I've just experienced something that I never thought would come this early in my career. I've had one of my designs (one of the designs I am most proud of thus far in my career) taken from me. I made the mistake of sharing my design on an online forum in hopes of gaining feedback. Someone took this as an invitation to just take the pdf that I had posted, open it up in illustrator and then just steal the pieces she wanted from it. These pieces were then rearranged with some clip art to look like awkward crap on a page! It just hurts to see my baby taken from me and then ripped apart and clumsily taped back together by someone who dares to call them self a dabbling graphic designer. I guess I should look at it as a compliment but I just feel so violated. What I will take away from this experience is to never EVER post a pdf online with its layers still intact. There is no one I can blame but myself, now I will take this lesson and move on, I am done sulking now... thank you for listening...
